Pool Fun
Other than being spoiled by family (and perhaps eating), Caroline's favorite beach activity was spending time at the pool.
Drying off and staying warm in her lobster towel following her swim.

While Her Dad Was Away
Sorry for the lack of posts...here are some pictures that Beth took this summer. As you can see Caroline has started doing a lot more.
Caroline has been great out as long as she has a menu or is eating while we are eating.

First Photo Shoot
This past Saturday, Caroline had her first professional photos taken. Although she wasn't at her happiest, the photographer did manage to capture some cute moments. Check out a preview of her pictures at Cara Crumbliss Photography and let us know which one is your favorite!

4 Month Checkup
Caroline had a great visit with the doctor today. Officially 4 months old, she weighed 15 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 25 1/4 inches long. For those of you who don't memorize every detail about her growth, that is 7 lbs. more than she weighed at birth and almost 4 inches longer. She is quite a big girl...in the 82nd percentile for weight and a little higher for length.
Playing before seeing the doctor...of course this is also before two shots.

First Father's Day
Caroline and her dad spent their first Father's Day hanging out at home, followed by a quick shopping trip and dinner out, and then some more hanging out at home. She sported her "dad tattoo" onesie for the special day!

Chatty Saturday
Caroline was very chatty in her Bumbo this evening...it was a great opportunity for us to try out the video cameras on our iPhones.

Where Has May Gone?
Catching Flies (5/13)
Watching her mom (5/16)
Holding one of her bunnies (5/17)
Overseeing dinner being made (5/20)
Here it is the last week of May and we haven't updated Caroline's blog. Sorry. It seems that blogging is one of the first things to drop out of the crosscheck of life. With my work schedule and Beth being back to work we find ourselves consumed with who will be taking and picking up Caroline from daycare, what we'll be eating for lunch and dinner, and the continual cleaning and prepping of bottles. Caroline has been a great baby through all of this. I know everyone says that about their kids, but she really has taken everything in stride.
Here are answers to some of the more regular questions we field:
Yes, she's doing well with daycare. She has better days than others (who doesn't?), but on the whole she seems to be doing well. Last Thursday and the previous Friday her caregivers said they were very proud of how good she was. There have been a couple of fussy days to counterbalance those and the rest of the time she finds herself somewhere in the middle. I've been able to make it to see her during my lunch at least twice a week so that has been good...I'm not sure Caroline cares one way or the other, but I enjoy spending some the time with her.
Yes, she's sleeping through the night. She's been doing that for a month now (glad I wrote that on Twitter or I never would have remembered when she started that). She usually heads to bed around 9pm and sleeps until 6:30-7:30am. Thank you, Caroline.
No, she isn't rolling over yet. She has been rolling onto her side though. She's definitely more active and alert now as well. For the past week or so she's been able to pick objects off the floor when she's playing on her back. She also seems to like grabbing and batting things above her...to include her mom's hair.
Okay, enough words...you're probably here for the pictures anyway.

Wednesday Morning Smiles
In the past few days Caroline has started to be a big smiler first thing in the morning. She must know that giving her parents smiles will keep them from climbing back in bed. Her morning routine usually includes some face to face time with mom and dad, some mobile and baby aquarium time in her crib, and then a trip downstairs from some time on her play mat where she is enthralled with an overhead sun. These pictures where taken before she headed to daycare for the first time for a 3 hour test period. She (and perhaps more critically and her parents) survived that time and another today without incident.

Another Day at the Beach
With the temperature in the low 90s, Caroline headed to the beach again on Monday. She slept through yet another meal allowing her parents to enjoy an amazing lunch on the porch at The Buttery in Lewes. Following lunch the family spent some time on the boardwalk in Rehoboth.
